What are the best travel dates?
The dates of the South Gobi flight are: departs Ulaanbaatar at approx. 6:00, 7:00 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday, September 12 - 13, 2009 and departs Ulaanbaatar for the return flight on Tuesday, September, 15 2009 at 12:00 noon, Runners who miss the departure flight from Ulaanbaatar will miss the race!

Do I need a passport or visa?
You will be required to have a valid passport and must apply for a visa to enter Mongolia. Registrants will be instructed on how to obtain a visa once their race registration is confirmed.

Where will I stay in Ulaanbaatar?
In Ulaanbaatar, runners have a host of options from hotels to hostels, but the Hotel will have a room reserved for each runner September 19,20 & and the Hotel in Ulaanbaatar will be reserved for the evening of September 21th. Cost is the responsibility of the participant. In South Gobi, runners stay at tourist camps in its gers which is included in the participation fee.

What do I need to bring?
Bring only a parkaor your right flees, your running gear, some casual clothes (khakis & sweater), and your prepackaged food if you are on a controlled diet. Otherwise, all food and water will be provided to you during your stay. Bring your own bandana, small first aid kit, and whatever else you might depend upon in the way of medication. Please limit your luggage to one "carry-on" sized bag and a running bag.

What is the desert weather like in September?
Temperatures during the race can range on average 5 – 15 Celcius in early morning to 25 -30 Celcius in late afternoon. It's hard to predict, but it probably won't get any higher or lower than 15 – 30 Celcius. It might be rains, even strong winds happen.

Do we have a medical aid?
Yes, There is a small hospital nearby Dalanzadgad and for bigger circumstances there will be rescue flight to Ulaanbaatar.

Do we get enough water and food during the race?
There is every five km (3.1miles) station, it is holding water, energy drinks and energy food etc...

How do we find track?
Whole course is settled by red cotton marks. After the race marks will collected. During the last five years nobody have had a problem to see the way or to find the tracks.

Are there any dangerous animals or insects?
No, there are no poisoning snaks, animals and insects and there is no risk at all.

Is it possible to have hot shower after the race?
Yes, there are several shower and cabins for men and women with running hot and cold water.
